Uninstall modem driver

The following steps is to help you uninstall the modem from windows. The hyperlinks will take you to the page to instruct you how to do that portion of these steps.

 

  1. See if the modem is in Add/Remove programs. If it is then remove it.
  2. If a modem is listed under Modems in control panel, highlight it and hit delete.
  3. See if a modem is listed in Device Manager (This will open in a different window) and delete it from there. (It can be listed under Sound, Game, and video controllers, under modem or under ports.) Delete the wave device for modem if it is listed too.
  4. Boot to safe mode and see if the modem is listed in device manager. If it is then delete it in there.
  5. To delete the modem by editing the registry, contact the manufacturer of the modem.
