Get the MAC address

The MAC address is assigned to each Network card. Each hard has its own address that is not assigned to any other network card.

To find out what the MAC address is, do the following

  1. Open Command Prompt (Page will open in a separate window)
  2. Type IPCONFIG /ALL
  3. In IPCONFIG the MAC address is labeled as Physical Address.
  4. the MAC address is ten numbers and letters in groups of two separated by dashes. It will look like 00-0G-2F-58-55-H3.

With wireless setup, for security you can set the wireless to only allow MAC Addresses you designate as the only ones that can access your system. For added security, you can also use WEP.
