Reasons

The reason I do not just post a link to the information on a procedure is as follows

I have no control over other people's websites. Some times a website goes offline temporarily, the website is no longer available, or the website moves the page to another address. This will cause my link to be broken and you will be unable to access the information.

I started to do this for this reason. I used to help people with issues via telephone. A technician does not know answers to all issues but a technician knows how to research for the issue. I would search for a particular issue and get 30 or more links to websites about that issue. I would click on a link to John Doe's website. John Doe would not have the fix on his website. He would only have a link to the fix to someone else's website. I would click that link and it would be broken because that site or page is no longer available. I just wasted 10 minutes on a broken link. I now have to return to the list and select another link. Needless to say, it can take a very long time to find the answer because of all the broken links.

I got tired of all the broken links and decided that if I find a fix, I will put it on my own website. That is how this site started. In no way am I trying to take credit for any information that I got from someone else. That is why I include a link to their page.

Unless the information is too complex to enter on my website, I will put the content on my website so the person looking for this information will be able to access it in the event the original location is not available.

I do try to credit the person or website with a link to the page that I got the information from. I cannot guarantee the link will always be active but if you do have a question, compliment, or want correspondence about the information posted, you can click on the link.

I do not charge for this information. The information is free to access. If you want to thank someone for the information please go to the link provided.
