Set BIOS to default and clear NVRAM

To set BIOS to default...

To set BIOS to default, there is different procedures for different systems. You may have to contact the computer manufacturer or manual for instructions. Some systems require you to turn the caps lock, scroll lock and numlock on and then press the ALT and letter F at the same time to set the BIOS to default. Other systems have you press the function key F9 and then press Enter.  There may be other means also. The menu in the BIOS may give you the instructions.

 

To clear NVRAM...

Some systems have this feature and some do not. For the systems that do there is numerous ways to clear NVRAM. Here is a short list of the procedures for different BIOS's.

1. Turn the caps lock, scroll lock and numlock on. Then press ALT and the letter E.

2. Push the right arrow key over to the Advanced screen, highlight reset configuration and press the minus key to set it to yes.

3. Push the right arrow key over to the Advanced screen, highlight Boot Configuration and press enter. Then highlight reset configuration data and press Enter. Set it to yes then press Enter.
