Protect your money
If you are out somewhere by yourself and want to take extra precautions against loosing your money, Leave a few dollars in your wallet. Divide the rest of it in different pockets. If you do get held up, give the person the money out of your wallet. The person will probably assume that is all you have and leave. He or she will probably not check your pockets.
Some say that they are not concerned because they are armed. However the person that holds you up will have an advantage of surprise and you may not have time to get your pistol out. I know you wouldn't do this with your money all the time but if you feel uncomfortable somewhere, this would be an option. I did it when I was overseas.
