Internet Explorer Modem Settings

To access this page do the following

Open Internet Explorer
Click on Tools
Click on Internet Options
Click on Connections
Click on Settings

There is three sections

Automatic configuration
Proxy Server
Dial-up settings

Automatic configuration may override manual settings. To ensure the use of manual settings, disable automatic configuration.

Has two options to choose from

Automatically detect settings
Use automatic configuration script

Proxy server

Has an option to use a proxy server for this connection (These settings will not apply to other connections).

Note: Some times a program will turn the proxy on without you knowing about it. You may not be able to access some websites with the proxy turned on.

Dial-up settings

Asks you for a User Name, Password and Domain. There is also two buttons.
