Internet Explorer reuse page

By default, Internet Explorer will open a link on a page that is already open. If you don't want to loose the page that you have open, you need to turn this feature off. When you have it off and click on a link, it will open a new window and leaving the ones you already have open alone.

To fix this, do one of the following

From the Control Panel

  1. Open Internet Options Advanced tab
  2. Uncheck Reuse windows for launching shortcuts
  3. Click on Apply
  4. Click on Close

Now when you click on a link, it will open a new page and leave the existing pages alone.
