What kind of warranty should I get?
Computer technology changes almost daily. To keep up with the technology is a full time job. To advice someone on what type of computer to get, is an impossible task. Everyone's needs are different. Everyone's preferences is different. Therefore, these pages are for your information to make an educated decision. There is so much information that it may confuse you more than help you. However it is important to review all the information. Also as technology changes, some of the information provided here may not apply.

Hardware questions Information on computer parts.
This is a tough question to answer. First I need to clear a misconception people have about computers. A computer is man made piece of equipment. It can fail the day you get it home, it can fail a year later or may never fail. That is why there is warranties for a system. On one aspect, buying a warranty and never needing the warranty, then the money spent for the warranty was wasted. However if you have a computer failure, the warranty can pay for itself by having it. Also if you do have a computer failure, the part that went bad, might be cheaper to replace on your own instead of through a warranty. However it can also be more expensive to replace without a warranty.
To get a warranty or not is something that you will need to decide on. However on the complete care warranties, I personally would not get them on a desktop. I would get the complete care on a laptop. The only difference between a complete care and a regular care is water, fire, or damage to the system. if you drop your computer, drop water, or it is damaged, complete care will fix or replace the system. However if you only have a regular warranty on it, then it is not covered.
The chances of needing complete care for a desktop is slim (but not impossible). However for a laptop is much greater because you carry it around with you so it can be dropped or have liquids spilled on it.
