Chipset driver
If your motherboard uses the Intel chipset, you may need to load your chipset driver after an install of the operating system. There is other chipsets besides Intel. You may have to load them as well. You will need to read the help files for your particular chipset to see if it is automatically loaded by windows or you need to load the chipset.
IMPORTANT!!!
If you do have to load the chipset, you will need to load the chipset first before installing any other drivers or applications. If you don't, you can corrupt the install of windows and have to do the reinstall over again (the corruption doesn't always happen but the risk is there if the chipset is not loaded first after windows is loaded).
