Uninstall newer operating system for an older one
If you do not want the operating system on the system and want to install an older one, that may or may not be possible. For example, want to uninstall Windows Vista and install Windows XP. Below is the information you will need to know before trying this
- Does the computer model you have support the drivers for the
older operating system? If it doesn't, you will not be able to
install the older operating system.
- Check with the manufacturer to see if there is drivers for the older operating system
- Do not trust the manufacturer to give accurate information if you call them or offered a downgrade. I have seen systems come with Vista and they include the Windows XP CD as an option if you want to downgrade. Then when you go to get the drivers, some or all the drivers will not be available.
- Do you have a legal copy of the older operating system that hasn't been used yet?
