Suggestion on creating passwords
When people use passwords, they use their past as their passwords because it is easy to remember. It is also easy for others to guess your password as well.
There are programs that intruders can use to try to guess the passwords. The intruder will try to find out the history of someone and then let the program combine the information till one of the combinations work.
People will join the following list together for a password (this is only a short list and can be others)
-
Dog's name
-
child's name
-
birth city
-
husband or wife's name
-
birth year of someone in the family
-
favorite color
For example, if their dog's name is Blue, Child's name is John and their husband's birth year is 1947. They may use Bluejohn47 or some other combination. A hacker can find out all that information easily without any trouble. Once they have that information, the program that they use will try various combinations of that list to find out the password.
Here is a suggestion on creating a password where you are not using your past.
Come up with a sentence. Once you come up with a sentence, come up with a sequence. You should use at least one capital letter and at least two numbers.
The sentence you create should be easy to remember so you shouldn't have to write it down. If you do write it down, don't put it with your computer or computer paperwork. Put it somewhere else. If someone sees it, they probably won't know if is your password (as long as you don't write down what the sequence is)
Here is an example of a password creation.
John, before you start watching TV, you will need to do the dishes. Then you can watch TV until 9:30.
I decide to use every 3rd letter and use all numbers. The second letter is going to be my capital letter. I am going to have a 10 letters and numbers
My password will be hErottt930
When it comes to changing your password. You can still use the same sentence, just change out the order such as use every 4th letter, use the third letter for the capital.
