Secondary Email
People complain all the time of getting tons of spam in their email box. One reason for it is that they give their email address to newsletters, companies that want them to register, Facebook and other places.
Some will not spam your email and will not give your email address out but others will. Here is a method to avoid getting junk in your email address.
You can have several free email addresses. Most ISPs give you at least 5 email addresses. You can also get unlimited number of email addresses from Yahoo or Hotmail for free.
Create you an alternate email address. For this discussion, I am going to use two email addresses as an example. personal@domain.com and nameyougiveit@yahoo.com. Facebookorchat@yahoo.com
In this example, a email address was created using nameyougiveit@Yahoo.com . With this email address, give it to newsletters, businesses or anything else that wants your email address that you do not want correspondence from or there is a risk of getting spam from.
If you use Facebook, or some other chat program, create you an email address for it as in this example, Facebookorchat@yahoo.com .
Use your personal@domain.com (your main email address whatever that is) for communications that you want to get, such as email from your family, friends and work.
If you have a place that you want to email you one time only, give them the nameyougiveit@yahoo.com. Just keep checking the email till you get the email and once you get it, you can stop looking at the email.
If you want someone from Facebook or another chat to have your personal email, you can give it to them personally.
Tip: The email addresses you create for the spam such as the nameyougiveit@yahoo.com or the Facebookorchat@yahoo.com will close the account if you don't open the email to check the mail periodically (I think you have to do it at least once a month to keep the email active)
If you do not want to have to remember to open the email periodically, you can assign the email to MSN messenger, yahoo messenger or assign it to outlook. It may be on your computer but you don't have to open it just have it running in the background. That will keep it alive for you without you having to check it.
