Configure Automatic Updates

There is two ways to configure Automatic Updates.

First Method 

  1. Click Start
  2. Click on All Programs
  3. Click on Windows Updates
  4. Click on Pick a time to install updates
  5. Click on More Options
  6. Put the dot in one of four options
    1. Automatic
    2. Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them.
    3. Notify me but don’t automatically download or install them.
    4. Turn off automatic updates.

 

Second Method (For systems with SP2)

  1. Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
  2. Double-click Security Center
  3. Click on Automatic Updates
  4. Put the dot in one of four options
    1. Automatic
    2. Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them.
    3. Notify me but don’t automatically download or install them.
    4. Turn off automatic updates.
