Open DXDIAG
Follow the following steps.
- Open the Run or Search window
- Type DXDIAG

Press Enter
There is 8 tabs in DXDIAG (Click on the link for more info)
Gives you the following information
- Current Date/Time
- Computer Name
- Operating System
- Language
- System Manufacturer
- System Model
- BIOS
- Processor
- Memory
- Page File
- DirectX Version
- DxDiag version
Gives you a list of all the files for DirectX and lets you know if there is a problem with any of them.
Gives you the information about your video card, the drivers and DirectX Features. If you are having video issues, you can disable DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration and AGP Texture Acceleration.
You can test DirectDraw and Test Direct3D. On the bottom gives you notes about video and status.
Gives you information about your sound and the driver.
You can also adjust the acceleration for your sound and test DirectSound.
Gives you the listing of music ports and DirectX Features.
Gives you listing of what input devices are attached.
Shows the Registered DirectPlay Service Providers and the Registered Lobbyable DirectPlay Applications
Gives you options for the DirectPlay Voice and to test DirectPlay.
allows you to access the following
- Windows Help's DirectX troubleshooter
- Windows Help's Sound troubleshooter
- Microsoft System information Tool
- Override DirectDraw's refresh rate (for advanced users only)
On the bottom of DxDiag you can click on Save All Information to save it to a file.
go to http://www.microsoft.com and do a search for DirectX.
