Place Internet Explorer, My Computer, My Network Places Icons on Desktop

Windows XP doesn't put these icons on the desktop by default. If you want them on the desktop, do the following.

Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
Double-click on Display

Click on Customize Desktop

Put a check in the Desktop icons that you want on the desktop

Click on OK

Click on OK
