Stop Windows Update from offering a specific update on Automatic Updates

If you want to stop Automatic updates from notifying you on a specific update, Choose the operating system

Windows XP

  1. You will see the update shield by the clock
   
  1. Click the Windows Update Shield
   
  1. Check Custom Install
   
  1. Click OK
   
  1. Uncheck the update that you don't want to install
   
  1. Close the window
  2. When you get the alert, Check the option not to be notified again
  3. Click OK
   

Windows Vista

  1. You will see the update shield by the clock

   

  1. Click the Windows Update Shield

   

  1. Click view available updates

   

  1. Uncheck the updates that you don't want to install

   

  1. Close the windows

  2. When you get the alert, check the option not to be notified again

  3. Click OK
