Exchange 2000 Server
- Exchange 2000 Server, for messaging and collaboration.

In addition, the following constraints apply to Exchange 2000 Server that do not apply to Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server:
- A single, 16 gigabyte (GB) mailbox database for each server.
- No clustering services.
- No distributed configuration (front-end and back-end deployment) services.
- No chat services.
NOTE: Exchange 2000 Standard Edition cannot be used as front end server in a front end/back end configuration. Exchange 2000 Standard Edition can be used as a back end server.
Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server is designed for large organizations that have the highest requirements for reliability, scalability, and manageability. Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server contains the following:- All of the features and products that are included in Exchange 2000 Server (refer to the "Exchange 2000 Server" section of this article).
- Increased scalability with no limitation on the size of database, multiple databases for each server, and support for distributed configurations.
- Enhanced collaboration with chat services
- X.400 Connector.
NOTE: Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server can be implemented as a front end server or a back end server for front end/back end configuration.
Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server
Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server is designed for complete data, voice, and video conferencing for organizations of all sizes. You can deploy Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server in conjunction with Exchange 2000 Server or Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server, or you can install and deploy Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server separately. Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server contains the following:- Microsoft Outlook 2000 Service Release 1.
- Outlook for Macintosh, Exchange Server Edition 8.2.2.
- Data conferencing and application sharing.
- Multicast video teleconferencing.
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server (on your domain).
- Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) (on your site)
- Active Directory™ in Windows 2000 (in your organization).
