Export System Information Data

To export system data to a text file

  1. To open System Information
    1. Click Start
    2. Click Help and Support
    3. Under Support Tasks, click Tools
    4. Click Help and Support Center Tools
    5. Click Advanced System Information
    6. Click View detailed system information (Msinfo32.exe)
  2. On the File menu, click Export.
  3. In Save in, click a file location.
  4. In File name, type the file name.
  5. Click Save.
Important
  • The information that you export from System Information may contain sensitive system data. It is important to safeguard this information and prevent unauthorized access to it.

Notes

  • To access System Information on a remote computer, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.   • System information is automatically refreshed before a file is saved.
