Service for Macintosh commands

You can use the net start or net stop command to start or stop the File Server for Macintosh service or the Print Server for Macintosh service. Used without parameters, net start displays a list of services that are currently operating.

To start the File Server for Macintosh service

Syntax
net startfile server for macintosh
Remarks
  • The File Server for Macintosh service permits the sharing of files with Macintosh computers.
  • You must install the File Server for Macintosh service before you can start it.

To start the Print Server for Macintosh service

 
 
Syntax
net startprint server for macintosh
Remarks
  • The Print Server for Macintosh service permits printing from Macintosh computers.
  • You must install the Print Server for Macintosh service before you can start it.

To stop the File Server for Macintosh service

 
 
Syntax
net stopfile server for macintosh

To stop the Print Server for Macintosh service

Format Meaning
