Turn off chat so you are not seen

 

Facebook Messenger

 

  1. Open Facebook Messenger

  1. Click Mofo (More Info), line points (may be called other things)

   

  1. Click Active

   

  1. Set switch to Off

   

  1. To turn on, set switch to On

   

 

NOTE

You can have Facebook open in several different browsers and on the cell. If you have Facebook open on Microsoft Edge, on the Cell, and in Chrome at the same time, you need to disable chat in each browser and on the cell. If you just turn it off in Microsoft Edge and the Cell, others will still see you signed on. You have to disable it in Facebook on Chrome as well.
