Disable or Enable chat

Facebook on Cell

At the moment chat window is not available in Facebook on Cell because it requires you to use Facebook Messenger. However the option is still available in Facebook App (at the time of this posting. That may change) However even though it is not being used, you may still have to disable it to keep people from seeing you signed on.

To disable chat on Facebook, do the following

Open Facebook

Open Settings

Slide bar to the left to turn off Facebook Chat

To turn chat back on, slide bar to the right

NOTE

You can have Facebook open in several different browsers and on the cell. If you have Facebook open on Microsoft Edge, on the Cell, and in Chrome at the same time, you need to disable chat in each browser and on the cell. If you just turn it off in Microsoft Edge and the Cell, others will still see you signed on. You have to disable it in Facebook on Chrome as well.
