Powerball Winners giving away cash Scam

There are fake posts on Facebook that tries to get information from users. It usually promises money or show support for something by having you share the post or give information to the site.

One of the latest scams is the Powerball Winners scam as pictured below.

It tells you to go to JohnandLisagivebck.com to claim the cash. To get the cash you have to refer others. This is how they can get information from you. They get the referrals and sell the referrals. I understand what they are doing but I am not good at explaining it.

You will probably see different variations of this with other website addresses as well. It is a scam.

If you like to verify what I am talking about, do the following

  1. Open the website Johandlisagivesback.com (or the website address listed) In Microsoft Explorer or Microsoft Edge

  2. Look at the number of people remaining (I have it circled in blue)

  1. Now open the same website from a different browser like Chrome, firefox or other brand browser besides Explorer or Edge (The site stores cookies and the number won't change if you do not open it in a different browser)

  2. If you do not have another browser, close the site, delete your cookies and browsing history, then open the site again.

  3. You will notice that the number will reset. So if the number was 9 the first time, it will be higher the next time.

Again, the website address may be different on the post you get.
