Remove Audio Codecs
Windows ME
Click on the hyperlink for instructions for that step.
- Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
- Double-click on Sounds and Multimedia
- Click on Hardware
- Audio Codecs may be listed If it is not then it will be under Sound, Game and Video in the Device Manager (This will open in a different window).
- Highlight Audio Codecs
- Click on Properties
- Highlight the first item
- Click on Remove (It may ask you to reboot. Say No)
- Do this until all items are removed (some may not remove and that is ok)
- Reboot the computer.
