Remove Audio Codecs
Windows XP
Click on the hyperlink for instructions for that step.
- Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
- Double-click on Sounds and Audio Devices
- Click on Hardware
- Audio Codecs may be listed. If it is not listed here than it will be listed under Sound, Game and Video in the Device Manager
- Highlight Audio Codecs
- Click on Properties
- Highlight the first item
- Click on Remove (it may ask you to reboot. Say No)
- Repeat Step 7 and 8 till all items are removed (some may not allow you to remove and that is ok)
- Reboot the computer
