Information on Connecting the Speakers
There is a very important step that you need to follow when connecting the speaker cable to the computer.
The computer needs to be off (This means no power to the system. No lights on the system at all. I am stressing this because some people mistake a computer in standby, sleep or restart means the same as the computer is off)
Read the Safety Procedures. Very Important!!!
Once the computer is off, then you can plug the speaker cable in. Once you have it plugged in, then you can turn the computer on
The computer can get damaged by plugging in the cable while it is on. There can be a surge when you go to plug it in.
I have had this happen to me. I forgot to turn the computer off. I went to plug the speaker cable in and saw a spark. I thought my sound card was damaged but the spark caused the hard drive to die.
