Access Modem or Router Admin page
This is a generic page on how to access the modem or router. This may not give exact steps on accessing your modem or router due to procedures vary depending on the make and model of the modem or router. For specific steps, consult the manual for the modem or router that you have. I have specific instructions for some modems but not many. Check here to see if yours is listed. If it is not, this generic instructions should help you access the modem or router admin page.
If you need to access the administrative page of your router or modem, do the following
To access the admin page of the router modem, do the following

Connect the computer directly to the router modem via network cable (It may work wirelessly but if it don't, you will need to connect to the modem via cable)

Use IPCONFIG to fine out what the IP address of the gateway is. Click here for instructions

Take note of the IP address for the Gateway found in IPCONFIG

Open Internet Explorer (or your choice of browser)

In the address bar, type in the IP address for the gateway you took note of on step 2

'Press Enter

The system will ask you for a username and password(this list is not complete. If you cannot access it via this username and password, you will need to check the website for your modem or router for the correct username and password)

Admin

Administrator

Passwords to try

admin (all lowercase)

Admin (first letter capitalized and rest lowercase)

administrator (all lowercase)

Administrator (first letter capitalized and rest lowercase)

Leave Password field blank

If you have tried the above usernames and passwords, and you have looked up the default passwords and still cannot get the site to accept the credentials, you will need to reset the modem. Click here for instructions.

After signing in, for security reasons, you should change the default username and password
Only do the steps below if you cannot access the admin page by using the username and password
Use the Reset button, on the back of the modem or router, to reset the modem or router and perform initialization as if you power cycled the unit. Your may need to reset the modem or router if you are having problems connecting to the Internet. Using this button will be rare.
Use a pointed non-metallic object to press this button. The location of the Reset button is usually on the back but can be different depending on the make and model. The Reset button is usually recessed to prevent accidental resets.
To reset the Router to Factory Defaults
To reset the router to factory defaults, press and hold the Reset button on the back of the modem or router fro more than fifteen seconds. This restores the wireless setup configuration and router configuration parameters to the factory defaults. You may need to do this if a misconfiguration has locked out all access.
Warning!!!
This will put the modem back to its default settings. Any settings that you have setup will be lost and will have to be re-entered
