Ruby Taylor, age 69, of Madison, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009 at her home. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Madison at 3:30pm with Brother Israel Brooks and Brother Wayne Bailiff officiating. Burial followed in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were John Sturdivant, Jr., David Sturdivant, Terry Anglin, Jake Anglin, Stu Basore and Mike Henson. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Pitkin, Marsha Basore, Joyce Jackson, Jan Beaverson, Glenda Stavinoga, Stephanie Sturdivant, Charlie Dick, Larry Deason and Richard Deason. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from 11–2pm and 5-8pm and again on Thursday from 1:30 until the time of service at 3:30pm. Ms. Taylor was born October 27, 1939 in Nashville, TN to Johnnie R. Wright and Kitty Wells Wright. With such famous parents she started her successful career as a country music entertainer very early in life. In addition to her parents, Ms. Taylor is survived by her son, Larry “Duke” Stephenson of Mt. Juliet; daughters, Kitty Elizabeth Ervin of Hendersonville and Corrie Louise (Brad) Cluck of Lebanon; brother, Bobby Wright of Madison; sister, Sue Sturdivant of Madison; grandchildren, Kourtney Wingert, Kaitlin Ervin and Brandon Ervin; great-grandchildren, Max Wingert and Aaron Key.
