Betty Zuccarello, age 90 of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, September
30, 2018. Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 4th at 10:00
a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 149 West Main Street,
Gallatin, TN 37066, with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Visitation
will be Wednesday, October 3rd from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Alexander
Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, Gallatin,
TN 37066, and Thursday, October 4th from 9:00 a.m. until time of
service at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the
service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, with Bill Martin, Jack
Martin, Mike Blackwood, David Deere, Tim Adcock, and Tracey Pinnager
serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Van Condor, Cam
Crutcher, Jerry Roberts, Richard Roche, Andrew Finney, John Glover,
Noel Martin, Tommy Martin, Mac McRae, Kenneth Thomson, Dr. Richard
Smith, Buzz Powell, Dr. Cordell Chaffin, John Maddox, and former
faculty of Madison High School and Hunters Lane High School.
Memorials may be made to Gallatin First United Methodist Church,
Missions Fund, 149 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066.
Betty Renn Zuccarello was born August 7, 1928 in Davidson County to
the late Harry Jackson Renn and Elizabeth Brown Renn. In addition to
her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Joe F. Zuccarello;
grandparents, John Brown and Elizabeth Butler Brown; brother, Harry
Jackson Renn, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Frances Renn Henson. She is
survived by daughter, Sharon Faircloth (Bill) of Goodlettsville; two
grandchildren, William “Bill” C. Martin IV (Rebecca) and Jackson
“Jack” R. Martin (Brittany); and niece, Linda McCartney of Memphis.
Mrs. Zuccarello graduated from Vanderbilt University and taught in
the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System, retiring after 35
years of service. After retirement, she engaged in many activities:
serving on the Historic Cragfont Board, Gallatin Arts Council Board,
and The Sumner County Historical Society Board. Betty served as
chairman and member of Col. Jethro Sumner Chapter of the DAR. She
was a Trustee at Volunteer State Community College, serving on the
Vol. State Friends of the Library Board. A member of First United
Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School for many years. Online
