Set spacing from double to single

Word 2007 and newer

If your text is double-spaced

and you want it single-spaced

Do the following

Open Word
Highlight the text

On top of word, you will see tabs, on the tab you will see page layout

Click on Page Layout

You will see Spacing

Set them to 0 pt
