Add words to custom dictionary

Might apply to other versions of Microsoft Office.
To rename the custom dictionary, follow these steps(Click the hyperlink for assistance with that step)
- Open Windows Explorer (This will open in a different window)
- Locate the damaged Custom dictionary
- Right-click the custom dictionary
- Click Rename
- Rename the custom dictionary file with the .txt extension,
for example

To rename custom.old, type custom.txt
- Press Enter

- Start Word
- Open the old dictionary file that you just renamed
- Press F7 to spell check the document
- Click Add to Dictionary to add the words that you want from the old custom dictionary to your new custom dictionary
