To access Disk Management, follow these steps

1. Open Computer Management

2. Click on Disk Management

This will allow you to see the disks that is installed on your computer. You can make changes to the computer with this tool.

Some of the tools can cause data loss if used incorrectly or if an error occurs during use of a tool. Be sure your files are backed up and proceed with caution

Here is some of the tasks you can do

• Open

  • Allows you to open the drive that is selected

• Explore

  • You can view the contents of the drive

• Mark Partition as Active

  • If the drive is not active, you can activate it

• Change Drive Letter and Paths

  • If you want the drive to have a different drive letter than it has now.

• Format

  • If you want to format the drive (wipe it) This will destroy all data on the drive

• Extend Volume

  • If you want to enlarge the drive space being used on the drive

• Shrink Volume

  • If you want to use less drive space on the drive

• Add mirror

  • Make a copy of the drive on another drive or location

• Delete volume

  • Delete the partition

• Properties

  • Get information on the drive

• Help

  • Get help with Disk Management
