Designate Either Windows or 3rd Party to Manage Wireless
Wireless can be managed by either windows or by the software provided by your wireless card. If you want windows to manage the wireless, follow these steps.
Set system to allow windows configure the wireless
- Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
- Double-click Network Connections
- Right-click the wireless connection
- Click Properties
- Click the Wireless Networks tab
- Put a check in Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings
- Click on OK
If the above is not working, make sure Wireless Zero Configuration is enabled.
If you want the third party software to manage the wireless do the following
- Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
- Double-click Network Connections
- Right-click the wireless connection
- Click Properties
- Click the Wireless Networks tab
- Uncheck Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings
- Click on OK
- Open the software that came with the wireless card (Install it if it is not installed)
- There should be a place to designate to use the program to manage the wireless. (if you don't see it consult the manual)
