Security issue with logging into a public system

Facebook

If you sign into Facebook with either the App on your cellphone or on a computer using a browser, and you decide to log off of Facebook, you need to physically click sign off.  It is not a good idea to just close the browser or the app. Closing the browser doesn't always sign you off.

If you are on your computer and no one else has access to your computer, than that is not a big issue. However if you sign in somewhere that others access as well, that can be an issue.

For example, if you are on a computer at the library. You sign into Facebook using a library computer. You decide to leave and you close the browser thinking that will sign you out of Facebook. Sometimes closing the browser will sign you off but sometimes it doesn't. If you closed the browser and it didn't log you off, that is a security risk. If the browser didn't sign you out when you closed the browser, the next person that goes to Facebook on that computer will go to your account. They will have access to everything you have on your account. They will be able to post anything they want, change your password and see any private messages, pictures and everything.

You will need to make sure you choose sign off.

If you think you forgot to log off somewhere and would like to find out where you are logged in at or you want to make sure someone is not using your account without your knowledge, you can use the following features of Facebook to find out. Click the hyperlink for more assistance.
