To access do the following

  1. Access Power and Sleep

  2. Click Additional power settings

   
  1. Click Change advanced power settings

  1. Click Change advanced power settings

   

You can choose one of three options

  1. Power Saver

  2. Balanced

  3. High performance

 

If you need to alter the settings further, you can manually change options listed below

  1. Power saver

    1. Require a password on wakeup

  2. Hard Disk

    1. Hard disk turn off hard disk after

  3. Internet Explorer

    1. JavaScript Timer Frequency

  4. Desktop background settings

    1. Slide show

  5. Wireless Adapter Settings

    1. Power Saving Mode

  6. Sleep

    1. Sleep after

    2. Allow Hybrid sleep

    3. Hibernate after

    4. Allow wake timers

  7. USB settings

    1. USB selective suspend setting

  8. Power buttons and lid

    1. Power button action

    2. Sleep button action

  9. PCI Express

    1. Link state Power Management

  10. Processor Power management

    1. Minimum Processor state

    2. System cooling policy

    3. Maximum processor state

  11. Display

    1. Turn off display after

    2. Enable adaptive brightness

  12. Multimedia settings

    1. When sharing media

    2. When playing video

If you have made changes and want to revert back to default settings, click Restore plan defaults
