 Wireless adapter keeps disappearing

 

There is an option to allow the computer to turn the Wi-Fi device off to conserve power. This can cause issues when you want to access the internet. Unless you need to conserve power, it is recommended to Uncheck this feature. (These directions may vary depending on the setup of your system)

  1. To access, Right click one one of the following

    1. Ethernet (circled in red)

   

  1. Wireless (circled in red)

   

  1. Click Open Network and Sharing Center

   

  1. Click Change adapter settings

   

  1. Right-Click your Wi-Fi (yours will be named different and your wireless adapter may be different)

   

  1. Click Properties

   

  1. Click Configure

   

  1. Click Power Management

   

  1. The default setting for Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is checked. This means the feature is enabled.

   

  1. Uncheck this feature so it looks like this

   

  1. Click OK
