You have a choice of USB connection or Parallel. Parallel is going away so it will be better to get a printer that has USB capability. Preferably with USB 2.0 or 3.0 (if available) capability. The newer systems have network and wireless capability also.

Sometimes when you buy a computer, you can get a package deal that comes with a printer. Be sure to examine the model of printer and decide if that is the printer for you. If you can use the printer, then the package deal will be a good deal but if it doesn't offer what you need then it will be a waste. Also look at the cost of the ink. Ink cartridges is expensive.
