Free or is it?

Beware!!! of items on the net that claim to be free. Including on legitimate websites. The item that you are downloading may be free but it may have a hidden program in the background.

Many free items that you can download has spyware on it. When you install the free software, the spyware installs. You won't even know the spyware was installed.

They are able to do this legally because of the agreement statement on the download page. This information will be listed in a manner that it is not convenient for you to see. Then again who reads the agreements. Majority click on accept or download without reading. If you read the agreement, the agreement will have statement in there stating that you agree to it being downloaded by downloading the free product. This doesn't mean that all free software on the internet has the spyware on it, but many do.

Before you download something for free read the legal notice. If you do get spyware on your system you can go to www.spywareguide.com for information on removing the spyware and information on it.
