Remove Audio Codecs

  1. Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
  2. Double-click on Sounds and Multimedia
  3. Click on Hardware
  4. Audio Codecs may be listed If it is not then it will be under Sound, Game and Video in the Device Manager (This will open in a different window).
  5. Highlight Audio Codecs
  6. Click on Properties
  7. Highlight the first item
  8. Click on Remove (It may ask you to reboot. Say No)
  9. Do this until all items are removed (some may not remove and that is ok)
  10. Reboot the computer.
