How to take a snapshot of a window

If you need to capture a picture of a window that is open on your desktop, you can do this in one of two ways

  1. Snipping Tool - This is a great tool to create a keepsake picture of something that is open on your desktop.

  2. Use Print Screen on keyboard - You can use the print screen to capture a picture of an item that is open on your desktop

Snipping Tool will not work on every screen in Windows. For the screens that the Snippet tool will not work with, you have to use the print screen button on the keyboard. To do this, follow these steps

  1. Open the program, picture or file you want to capture a picture of

  2. Press the Print screen key on the keyboard (sometimes it is labeled as PrtScrn. It is located near the number keys)

  3. Open Paint (or a program of your choosing)

  4. Click Paste

  5. You can now crop and save the item you want
