Using a USB flash drive

If you have a USB drive and need to know how to use it. This page will help.  Below is links to further help you with various steps.

  1. To use the USB drive, you plug it into an available USB port
  2. To send files to the drive, You can do one of the following
    1. Right-click the file, and click Send To
      1. Click the drive letter for the USB drive
    2. Open up Windows Explorer and copy the file or files to the drive
    3. In the program, you can click Save as and choose the flash drive to save it to.
  3. When your finished with the drive
    1. Click the safe to remove icon.
   
    1. The safe to remove icon is located by the windows clock
   

    If you get a message stating the drive will function faster, that is not an issue. it is just letting you know that it has the capability to function faster if the port you plugged the device into was a 2.0 device.
