Ping Command

If you are having internet issues, try ping to see if you can ping sites.

  1. Open a Command Prompt window (Link will open in a separate page)
  2. Type in "Ping Host" Lets you know if you can ping yourself
  3. Type in "Ping (your IP Address that you got from IPCONFIG)"
  4. Type in "Ping (gateway address that you got from IPCONFIG)"
  5. Type in "Ping UpgradeNRepair.com"

What pinging tells you

  1. Pinging the host will tell you that your IP address and DNS is working
  2. Pinging your TCP/IP address will tell you that you can access your IP address
  3. Pinging the Gateway will tell you that you can access your cable/DSL modem, or router
  4. Pinging UpgradeNRepair tells you that you can access external websites. If this is the case, then the issue is definitely a software issue with your system.
