Microsoft Edge is slow

Windows 10

This does not fix all the issues and may not for your system. It helped some with my system but didn't completely resolve the issue.

If you are experiencing slowness with Microsoft Edge, here is a fix for the issue.

  1. Open Internet Options (Internet Options is part of Internet Explorer and not Edge. Click the link for instructions on how to access)

  2. It should automatically open to the General tab. If it doesn't, click General tab

  1. Look for the Browsing History section

  1. Click Settings

  1. If you get this message, Click OK (You may not see it)

  1. Click Move Folder

  1. Choose the location you want to move the temporary internet files (if the folder you want is not listed, you will have to create the folder in windows Explorer first before doing this step, Click here for instructions)

    1. I created a folder in my Documents folder named tempinternetfiles.

    2. However you can put it anywhere you want and name it as you want.

    3. If you want to create a folder for this, my suggestion is to make the folder before doing this procedure and then just pointing to it when you get to this step.

  2. Click Ok

  1. Look for Disk space to use

  1. Make sure it says 1024. If it doesn't change it to 1024

  2. Click OK

  1. You will see a log off message. Click Yes (Make sure you save any work you have on the desktop before clicking Yes or you will lose the work)
