Add words to custom dictionary

Might apply to other versions of Microsoft Office.

To rename the custom dictionary, follow these steps(Click the hyperlink for assistance with that step)

1. Open Windows Explorer (This will open in a different window)
2. Locate the damaged Custom dictionary
3. Right-click the custom dictionary
4. Click Rename
5. Rename the custom dictionary file with the .txt extension, for example
   1. To rename custom.old, type custom.txt
      1. Press Enter
6. Start Word
7. Open the old dictionary file that you just renamed
8. Press F7 to spell check the document
9. Click Add to Dictionary to add the words that you want from the old custom dictionary to your new custom dictionary
