Error Checking Utility

If you are getting messages that there is bad sectors, this utility can in some instances, find and recover bad sectors. To run the utility, follow these steps

Restart the computer
Click Start
Click My Computer
Right-click your system drive (local disk (C:))
Click Properties
Click Tools tab
Click Check Now under Error-Checking
Select Automatically Fix File System Errors
Select Scan for and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors
Click Start
Restart the computer
