ISA slot on motherboard

This allows you to connect a network card, modem, audio, firewire, video or other devices to your system. This slot allows 16 bit data transfer. This feature is obsolete in newer systems. The newer systems use PCI slots which does the same as the ISA but it does transfer at 32 bit instead of 16 bit. The newer motherboards do not have the ISA slot on them. The number of ISA slots vary depending on the specifications of the motherboard. The color of the slot is usually black or dark gray.

You need to turn the system off, disconnect all cables and discharge power before installing or removing a card from the system.

Read the Safety Procedures. Very Important!!!

Instructions for PCI install are the same for ISA To install the ISA card click here.
