Coalmont, Tennessee - Danny Bruce Gambrell, age 66, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving wife, Maggie and their three children, David, Krissy, and Barbara Lynn at home in Coalmont, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents James Gambrell, Lea Polly, and brother Larry Gambrell. Danny has been battling a terminal illness for over a year and a half and was cared for by his wife, Maggie. Danny wished for his ashes to be spread at their lakeside home in Coalmont, at Twin Creeks Marina, and beside his dad's grave in Cookeville, TN. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Maggie Gambrell and his 3 children, David Gambrell, Murfreesboro, TN; Krissy Henley (Casey) Nashville, TN; and Barbara King (Isaac), Sewanee, TN; brother Terry Gambrell, Clarksville, TN and 4 grandchildren, Carrington Gambrell, Nathan King, Madison King, and Kim Gambrell.
Danny was born in Cookeville, TN. Danny started his work career as assistant manager for Allied Foods for 3 years, and then became a sales representative for Tennessee Pride Sausage in Nashville for 13 years. He had always dreamed of owning his own grocery store. In 1986 he was fortunate enough to fulfill his dream and became the owner of Danny’s Grocery in Altamont, TN for 22 years. Danny enjoyed country music, fishing, and UT VOLS football. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in honor and memory of Danny Gambrell to:
