Internet Explorer connections tab

To access this page do the following

  1. Access Internet Options (The hyperlink will open in a separate window)
  2. Click on Connections
   

 

Has three sections

  • Setup - To setup an Internet connection, click Setup.
  • Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings
  • Local Area Network (LAN) settings - LAN Settings do not apply to dial-up connections.

Setup

  1. Click on Setup
  2. Click Next
   
  • Choose how you want to connect and what you want to connect to.
  • Go through the prompts to set up the connection.
  •  

    Dial-Up

    Settings allows you to select Automatic configuration, use a proxy server and to set Dial-up Settings (user name and password).You can also access the modem advanced page under settings

    Note: Some programs will put a check in the proxy server without you knowing about it. The proxy server will prevent you to access some websites.

    You can set the dial-up for the following options

    LAN

    Has two sections

    Automatic Configuration

     

    Proxy Server

    Us a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections)
