Setup Network using Wizard 

Windows XP

To setup the network using the wizard 

  1. Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)

  2. Double-click on Network Connections

  3. Click on set up a home or small office network

  4. Follow the prompts on the wizard.

  5. Make sure all computers have the same workgroup name (capitalization has to match)

  6. Make sure each computer on the network has a different computer name.

  7. Reboot the computer
  8. Now you need to share a file on the system
  9. If you are using a router you will need to make sure the settings for your router are correct. You will need to consult the manual for the information on the specific router.
  10. You should be able to see each other.
  11. If you still can't get it to work, check the security level on the system. You may have to lower it.
