How to install ST Connector

To install the ST Connector, do the following

  1. Have the following tools

    1. Impact tool

    1. Crimp tool ( you will use the 250 micron location)

    1. Polishing equipment

    1. Stripper

    1. ST Connector

    1. Scriber

    1. Loose tube or fanout (if the fiber does not have one)

  1. If there is no loose tube or fanout, insert one

  1. Put the boot on (the design may be different than what is pictured here)

  1. Strip 1/4 inch off the fiber

  1. Take the connector and slide it on. Make sure the fiber goes all the way through.

  1. Make sure the loose tube goes all the way to the end

  2. Crimp the connector with the 250 micron location

  1. Use the impact tool

  1. Remove the excess fiber off the fiber with the scriber (be sure to do it over the trash or something to catch the scrap. The scrap is small and can get embedded in your skin)

  1. Use the air polish with the 1500

  1. Insert the connector into the disk

  1. Polish with the 3 micron. The first time be gentle. Then do it real hard for five seconds

  1. Take the 1/3 micron (8th)  gentle for 1 second

  1. Slide the boot up

  2. Put the cap on to protect the fiber
