 Put Icons on desktop

Windows 7

By default, the Internet Explorer, My Computer, My Documents, and My Network Places does not show on the Desktop.

To put them on the Desktop, do the following

  1. Go to Personalization (This link will open in a different window)

  2. Click Change Desktop Icons

   
  1. If you want the icon on the desktop, put a check in the box.

  2. If you do not want an icon on the desktop, make sure it is unchecked

   
  1. Click Apply

   
  1. Click OK

   

 

To add other icons to the Desktop (this is for all operating systems)

for these instructions, we are going to put a shortcut for Internet Hearts on the Desktop.

  1. Click on Start (Link will open in a different window)

  2. Click on All Programs

  1. Put the arrow over games so it will expand

  2. Right-click on Internet Hearts

  1. Click on Send To

  1. Click on Desktop (create shortcut)

  1. Now a shortcut for Internet Hearts is on the Desktop
